The TAP Mentor must have at least ten contact hours with the candidate, and they must include the following:
- Three separate observations of the candidate delivering technical assistance
- Two actual face to face meetings with the candidate
- Remaining contact time may be by email, phone, or sharing resources
After completion of the observation and contact hours, the TAP Mentor signs the Candidate reference form and sends it in to the Center for Child Care Career Development. This process may last up to, but not more than, one year.
